CohortHouse is run by Huckleberry Co. LLC, an Indiana company ("we"). This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. The short version: your group's information belongs to your group, only your members can see it, and we never sell it.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email, password (stored scrambled, never readable), and anything you add to your profile like a photo, phone, job or birthday.
  • Group content: events, RSVPs, posts, photos, files, polls, chat messages and coffees that members add.
  • Connections you turn on: if your group connects GroupMe, messages in that group sync both ways. If you import from Google Photos, we receive only the photos you pick.
  • Usage and device data: basic logs, like sign-in times and errors, to keep the service running and secure. If you turn on phone notifications, a notification token for your device.
  • Billing: handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.

How we use it

  • To run your group: show content to the right members, send invites, reminders and notifications you've chosen.
  • To answer questions through Porter, as described in our AI notice.
  • To support you when you write to us, and to keep the service secure.

Who can see it

Group content is visible only to members of that group, and committee-only content only to admins and committee members. Contact details are never shown outside your group. We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.

Service providers

We use a small set of providers to run CohortHouse: hosting and database, file storage, email delivery, payments, and Anthropic for Porter. Each gets only what it needs to do its job.

How long we keep it

We keep your group's content while the group exists. When an admin deletes a group, or you ask us to delete your account, we remove it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep billing records.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, choose your notifications and download your group's photos and files. Email hello@cohorthouse.com to see, correct or delete your information.

Children

CohortHouse is for people 16 and older.

Changes

If we make a meaningful change, we'll tell group admins by email before it takes effect.
