How can we help?
Short answers for admins and members. New to a group? Start with Invited to a group?
Getting started
Create a group
Go to Start free, name your group and add your logo. You're the first admin. You can add more admins any time from People.
Invite people
In Admin, open People and paste a list of names and emails. Each person gets an invite email to set a password. Invites last 30 days, and you can resend one from the same page.
Admins, committee and members
Admins can change anything. Committee members see committee-only events, polls and posts. Members see what's shared with everyone. Change anyone's role from People.
Set your look
In Admin, open Branding to add your logo for the top bar, sign-in page, emails and app icon, and to pick your colors.
Calendar and RSVPs
Add an event
Tap New event in Calendar. Add the time, place, details and who can see it. Everyone who can see it gets the RSVP buttons.
Sign-up slots
On an event, add slots like "Drivers, 5 spots" or "Dessert, 3 spots". Members claim a slot and it fills up on its own.
Reminders
Members who said going get a reminder before the event by email and phone notification, based on their own settings. Moving or cancelling an event tells everyone who said yes.
Subscribe from your own calendar
In Calendar, tap Subscribe and pick Apple, Google or Outlook. If you ever share that link by mistake, reset it from the same screen.
Download who's coming
Admins can download any event's RSVPs and sign-ups as a spreadsheet from the event page.
Photos and files
Upload photos
Open an album and tap Upload. You can pick many at once from your phone.
Import from Google Photos
In Photos, tap Import, sign in with Google and pick the photos you want. CohortHouse only sees the photos you pick.
Download an album
Open an album and tap Download all to get a zip file.
Files
Upload files in More, then Files. Admins can mark a file official so people know it's the current version.
Chat and GroupMe
Connect GroupMe
An admin connects the group's GroupMe in Admin, then Integrations. Messages then flow both ways between GroupMe and CohortHouse.
Link your own GroupMe
In your profile, tap Connect GroupMe so messages you send from CohortHouse show up under your own name in GroupMe.
Coffees, polls and the directory
Invite someone to coffee
Open Coffees, pick a member, offer up to three times and a place. They pick one and both of you get a calendar invite. Only the two of you see it.
Log a coffee you already had
Tap We already had coffee to count it.
Create a poll
Tap New poll, add the choices and an optional closing time. Mark it committee-only if it's for planners.
Update your profile
Add your photo, job, company and birthday in your profile so the directory is useful.
Porter
What can Porter answer?
Anything in your group's calendar, files, polls, announcements and directory that you're allowed to see. How Porter works.
Rename or turn off Porter
Admins can rename Porter, change its personality or turn it off in Admin, then Branding.
Account and billing
Reset your password
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in page and we'll email you a link.
Notifications
Open your profile to choose email, phone or both for each kind of update.
Upgrade or change plans
Admins upgrade in Settings, under Plan. Upgrades take effect right away and are prorated.
Get an invoice
Program plans can pay by invoice or check. Email hello@cohorthouse.com.
When your year ends
Your group becomes a read-only keepsake at no charge. Renew to keep planning in it. You can download photos, files and RSVPs any time.
Delete your group
Admins can delete the group in Settings. Everything is removed within 30 days. Email hello@cohorthouse.com if you need it sooner.
Email hello@cohorthouse.com. Tell us your group's name and what you were trying to do. We answer within one business day.
