Meet Porter

The member who always knows the plan.

Porter is your group's assistant. Ask a question the way you'd ask a friend in the group, and get the answer from your own calendar, files, polls and announcements.

Things people ask Porter
  • When is the next meeting, and where?
  • What do I need to bring Saturday?
  • Who's already signed up to drive?
  • Draft an announcement about the parking change.
  • Whose birthday is this month?

Rules Porter never breaks

  • Answers only from your group's own information. If the answer isn't there, Porter says so and suggests who to ask.
  • Never shares anyone's phone number or email address.
  • Never shows committee-only information to people who can't already see it.
  • Drafts announcements, polls and messages, but never sends anything. A person reviews and sends.
  • Never pretends to be a real person.

Make it yours

Admins can rename Porter and give it a personality that fits the group, or turn it off. Porter is included on the Group and Program plans.

How your information is handled

Porter is powered by Claude, a model made by Anthropic. When someone asks a question, CohortHouse sends the question and the parts of your group's information that person is allowed to see. Anthropic does not use that information to train its models. We don't send passwords, phone numbers or email addresses. Questions and answers are kept in your group for 90 days so Porter can follow a conversation, then deleted.

Porter can be wrong. For anything that matters, like a time or a place, check the event itself.
